Just started a new program a month ago. I'm training 6 days a week ("1-4, 2-5, 3-6 format") incorporating isometrics with my resistance training ("major burning"). I find the concentric / eccentric ranges of motion per exercise  taxing, but it's the isometrics that are putting it over the top. Holding certain positions for 30 seconds to a minute in duration "just burns". I found my strength has increased dramatically! There are many health professionals in fitness who feel differently towards isometrics in training. I've heard in the past that when doing any kind of isometric where you are holding your body in a certain position, you're only strong in that position. Well, as far as I'm concerned, strength is strength! Being a martial artist, I love doing a horse stance and holding the position for a minute after doing squats or leg extensions. It's sure a good way of adding intensity to your program. I will never stop doing what works for me. Anyway, I just felt like doing some writing. This is my first blog entry with "My Best Health Portal" and it's great to have the opportunity to do some networking with others who have a passion for health and fitness as I do.   Jeff
