The Healthy Diet Pyramid also focuses on fat because most diets are too high in fat, especially saturated fat.

Following the Healthy Diet Pyramid will help you keep your intake of total fat and saturated fat low. A diet low in fat will reduce your chances of getting certain diseases and help you maintain a healthy weight. 

It is important to remember that no single food provides all of the nutrients that your body needs, so eating a variety of foods within each group from the Healthy Diet Pyramid ensures that you get the necessary nutrients and other substances that promote good health.
